Our homage wine, an extended barrel aged syrah (40 months), has dense, layered, aromatics with great depth. This wine plays between fruit notes of blueberry and black cherry, with more complex nuances of cinnamon stick, cardamom pod, clove, and black tea, integrated with savory hints of bacon fat, black peppercorn, seared meat, and teriyaki.  Constantly evolving in the glass, the wine shows beautiful balance to go with its rich, more powerful palate presence.  Aged for 40 months in large format (400L) puncheons, 100% French oak, 0% new.

Technical Information

Soil Types: Linne Clay Loam - this whitish gray soil contains limestone pieces beginning 18”-24” below the surface. The presence of limestone captures and preserves the freshness in this wine, and being a heavier soil lends itself to a rounder mouthfeel.
