This dry rose of 100% syrah offers classic aromas of early-season strawberry and watermelon rind, complemented by the savory hint of a just-shucked oyster shell. Fleshy and nicely concentrated, offering pink grapefruit, white peach and hibiscus flavors that tighten up with its chalky texture. Shows very good definition and a long, supple finish that echoes the melon note. Aged in a combination of neutral french oak and stainless steel for 4 months before light filtration and bottling.
Linne Clay Loam - this whitish gray soil contains limestone pieces beginning 18”-24” below the surface. The presence of limestone captures and preserves the freshness in this wine, and being a heavier soil lends itself to a rounder mouthfeel.
Santa Lucia Clay Loam - This soil lends itself to brighter, oral aromatics and lower pH. Being a heavier soil it also lends itself to a rounder mouthfeel.
Mocho Loam - this sandy, alluvial soil is ne-grained, fertile and deposited by water owing from the Santa Ynez River. Due to their sandy nature, there is little water retention in these soils which creates higher aromatics and density in the fruit.
