2014 Time for Time
95 points - Wine Enthusiast
Deep, rich, and concentrated this extended aged Syrah brings class and sophistication with power and complexity. A layered bouquet of dark berries, incense, hints of cola, potpourri, and a touch of flinty-smoke. On the palate the wine is broad and fleshy, focused and intentional, with seductively sweet boysenberry, cassis, and subtle notes of violet enlivened by juicy acidity and framed perfectly by sweet oak tannin and chalky minerality. Aged for 40 months in 400L French oak puncheon, 50% new.
Soil Types: Linne Clay Loam - this whitish gray soil contains limestone pieces beginning 18”-24” below the surface. The presence of limestone captures and preserves the freshness in this wine, and being a heavier soil lends itself to a rounder mouthfeel.
