This is a classic brooding petite sirah offering dark plum, black cherry, and blackberry intermingling with hints of violet, anise, clove, cedar, and a smoky charcoal note. This wine, deep and concentrated, brings the quintessential masculine tannin of the varietal and will benefit from a couple hours decanting. Aged for 22 months in 100% French oak, a varying selection of 400L and 228L, of which 35% new.
Soil Type: Linne Clay Loam - this whitish gray soil contains limestone pieces beginning 18”-24” below the surface. The presence of limestone captures and preserves the freshness in this wine, and being a heavier soil lends itself to a rounder mouthfeel.
